A Winter Night Banquet: An Exploration of the Region and its Seasons
by Two Noted Chefs, with Market Growers, Producers, & Purveyors.
This multi-course dinner is the first in a series of events that will inform and benefit the development of the New Amsterdam Market School of Regional Cookery, envisioned as a place where all New Yorkers can learn to shop for and prepare economical and nutritious meals, season by season.

VENUE
A Winter Night’s Banquet will be served in the beautifully restored dining room of 265 Henry Street in the Lower East Side. This historic Federalist rowhouse dates from 1830, when the neighborhood’s residents would have stocked their larders at New York’s Fulton Market in the old East River port.
The house is now part of the Henry Street Settlement, a community institution founded in 1893 by social pioneer Lillian Wald.
KITCHEN
Cooking will take place in the kitchen at 265 Henry Street on Friday, March 12.
Ticket Holders are welcome to observe the preparations,
and those with some experience may request to help with the cooking.
Space in the kitchen is limited, but we will do our best to accommodate all requests,
first-come - first-serve.
